Youngsters not interested? (III)

Clark Devey writes: "I am a 18 year old from London, England. The other day I saw your article about young people with vintage cars. Especially with Model A Fords and thought 'Hey, that's me!!' I own a 1930 Model A Coupe as my ONLY and DAILY driven car. The attached photo is of the car the day we towed it home behind my dads 1952 Standard Vanguard Woody (MartsRods.freeserve.co.uk), we certainly got some stares that day !! The spaceship parked in front of the house is a 1950 Safari Miner caravan, that also gets pulled along behind the woody. Apart from a change of wheel colour to cream, a complete mechanical overhaul and a halogen headlight conversion with an alternator (I know, but dynamos just don't put out the amps!!) its as exactly the same as in the photo." Great image Clark! All in the family, ...as they say. One detail though. From own rally (Monte Carlo Challenge) experience I know you can 'boost' dynamos up to a point that they deliver more than alternators. An interesting conversion. Anyway, we wish you tons of mileage with the A and whatever will follow after this, the next seven, eight decades. (photo Clark Davey)
