What is it? # 188

It is a RHD bus. The photo was made with a Kodak Brownie Box in 1948 by a young man who now is an avid visitor of these pages! With the last quiz he found that you lot have an appetite for old busses. So here is another one, being a bit more recent. The photographer wrote: "This is not a holiday home but is one of many such old buses enjoying a second career in post war UK as temporary accommodation. This one was sited with many other old buses in a large field near to Luton airport. Because of war damage there was a severe shortage of homes in the London area." All fine, but it hardly is bringing you closer to the identity of this once fine tourer coach. The maker's name should not be too much of a problem. It is a very well known name (yet not a great name in British car history) and maybe at a more recent point in time it was the largest producer of cars in the UK. Up to you to come up with a maximum of 100 winning words. We are interested to hear from you all what you can tell about this specimen of public transport. Make, Year, Type, Coachwork, all. Enjoy the ride! Send your answer before Monday September 18. [email protected]
