Well preserved Mad Max .

Now that's a different kind of beef! We fell in love instantly with this lowridin' deep dark Dino. Don't let Spielberg see it or he'll get away with it to do a feature. John Moulton writes: "...this isn't just any Duesenberg, but the very first production Duesenberg. The family claims 1919, but Randy Ema (edit. renowned Duesenberg historian & restorer) says invoices he has, shows a 1921 sales date. The car has been in the same family since new and I have been caretaker for it since 1984. We are just preparing the car for the "unrestored" class at the Pebble Beach Concours this year. The car is actually a very dark blue. The car spent its' whole life in Hawaii until approximately 1968 when it came to the Monterey peninsula. The paint work is quite old and amateurish. It was the first production car with hydraulic brakes." Editors note about the "amateurish paintwork". Personally I think that is a typical 1950-1970 signature of time and should be kept like that. Before that era most of these monsters were dumped due to lack of interest and later on collectors decided it was worthwile asking a pro to fix the job. (photo John Moulton / JAM Engineering )
