Click the photo to get a better view on this period photo of XO-9313. Because of the photo of which we don't know the age (thirties, forties, fifties?) and because of the plain fact this car has a steel coachwork (something nobody does nowadays) we also know it is not a 'modern' conversion. But then the issue arises, when ? Anybody who can remember XO-9313 as it was in this photo? (also what the meaning is of the small 'laser' on the front apron?) Previous owners are known since the very beginning. We suspect the car has a sporting past, as it had two engine overhauls by the factory before 1931 ! (photo courtesy VSOC)
Martin Frosh of Australia writes:"I wonder if the "lazer" between the dumb irons is an animal frightener ?
The rush of air causes a highpitched whistle - higher than human hearing, but clearly heard by anything from dogs to kangaroos, causing them to take to hills - or at least off the road.
A much smaller version is available still today, often fitted to outback vehicles, and worthwhile as anyone who has had the experience of hitting a wombat or kangaroo at speed will agree."
