You may remember the Super Stutz find ! we featured early December last year.
Owner Al SanClemente sends a very kind update:
"I wanted to thank you for posting our car. It is amazing how
many people watch Prewarcar.com and commented or contacted me. I thought I
would give you the latest update which is pretty amazing news. I've
attached a picture of the car circa 1934/35 which was given to me by Scott
Reavely who's mother-in-law's dad - Svend Hinsby - owned the car around that
period. The better news is that I was able to acquire the car's complete
history. It was built 29-30 by Schumacher Motor Services in Yonkers NY most
likely for a wealthy client. Gustav Schumacher Jr. son of the original
builder has been a tremendous help. The family has a photo album with all
kind of original pictures including the 4-carb Stutz racing engine which
originally powered the car. I have additional details on my website (click) if you
are interested. Fred Rowe is tremendously excited and has to re-write his article based on all the new information. Btw, any idea what the two pipes are sticking out of the hood? In the earlier engine shot of the Stutz engine, those pipes are not there." [email protected] (photo collection A.J.S.)
