Safety inspected in 1944...

Every Model T brings its own story. We asked Bob Lighty about the dusty Model T in their showroom.
Bob wrote to us: "A few months ago a local dealer in Corvettes contacted about an unrestored Model T in the back of a barn. We gambled and told him we would take the car site unseen. When the car arrived at our dealership we found the most flawless body ever. No dents, no rust, just perfect original Ford sheet metal. We had the car running in only a day or two. Even the tires hold air perfectly. The seller claimed the car had less than 10,000 original miles. While it is impossible to guage how many miles a Model T has as they have no odometer, the car is the tightest, smoothest, best driving Model T we have ever driven. We believe the miles to be exceptionally low. On the windscreen there is a WWII gas rationing sticker, a West Virginia safety inspection sticker for 1944, and a sticker for the 12th Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival. That same festival today is in its 66th year in Buckhannon, West Virgina. That means the sticker is from 1953. Who would have thought this exciting find would have been found in the same barn as a 1968 Corvette." Bob Lichty, Motorcar Portfolio, Canton, Ohio, USA.
