One of the Office-girls

Meet Marjorie Prickett. It’s 1936 and she works at the MG office in Abingdon. She doesn’t go unnoticed, oh no. The time is near for unveiling the new MG VA saloon and still some publicity shots will have to be made. So why not ask Marjorie and have her demonstrate the windshield opening mechanism? This isn’t as strange as it sounds. Factories and importers often use their own personnel from workshop and office as models, as your editor knows from own experience. Mostly these models remain anonymous, but we recognize Marjorie as we also see her on an official photograph of the MG workforce. Here we see her standing behind George Propert, the Works manager. Next to George sits Cecil Kimber, the Managing Director of MG (photo’s collection Bas de Voogd). (RB)
