Update by Hans Compter: "...probably these beertrucks do not have Minerva on their radiator but Minerva - Auto Traction. Part of the name was deleted at the beginning of the 1930's. From 1920 till 1925 the trucks were called Auto Traction only. Minerva bought the shares of the company form Chenard Walcker in 1925. I believe these trucks come from the 1928-31; series HTM or ABV with 4 cylinder 5,3 Litre engine. This radiator with rounded edges is later than 1928 anyway."
EARLIER: A few truckloads of beer is not the usual way for us to start the week. As you may understand, this Imperial beertrain is leaving the Brussels premises to replenish what has been spilt during the weekend before Summer Solstice. And when served by a Minerva truck it is worthwhile reporting to you.
When you can get enough of all this - we are talking commercial vehicles of course - you should stay away from the belgian beer and haste yourself to the Historical Commercial Vehicle Society (www. HCVS.co.uk). We will do anyway to ask them about the hardfacts of this Minerva fleet. Or is your answer earlier in? [email protected] (postcard from collection Bruno Costers)
