Le Mans, 65 years later: last weekend.

Tim McGrane, Barret-Jackson wrote us: "Le Mans Classic was wonderful. The overall event was very good and one has to give credit to Mr Patrick Peter for undertaking such a task. The financial commitment along with challenges that he came upon in getting the long track open must have been more than he could have imagined at the start. The selection of cars was very good with all of the five groups having a diverse selection of marques both notable and obscure. The format of having a five car team, one from each of the groups, was an excellent way of creating a team effort. There were some obvious missing cars and drivers from such an event as I am sure some people felt that they should observe for the first year. But, i truly believe that all who participated left feeling thay were a apart of a very special event. Seeing Porsche 917's, GT40's, Ferraris and Bentleys at full speed during the night around the long circuit was a moment to remember. If they can continue the event I am sure it will become one of the premiere events alongside the likes of Goodwood. It is so unique it deserves all the support it can get to ensure it's future." Thank you Tim! (photo collection Dominique Gasnerie)
