It's the King's wish to have a motor drive.

You may be born as King Edward but you are still a human being. So when it is Sunday it can happen you just feel like a little spin around the countryside. Is the car he chose to take that afternoon the first Royal Daimler (Daimler.co.uk)? (click photo for enlargement). Probably not, the resemblance with the lady's Napier a bit lower on this page is remarkable. Sender of this nice antique e-card is Russel Harris who is also reponsible for the Lafayette collection. He wrote us 'I came across the enclosed postcard. The reverse says: This postcard is one of a series "Celebrities of the Motoring Wolrd" "Oilette" H.M. The King Leaving Lismore Castle for a Motor Drive, published by Raphael Tuck & Sons. The Postmark is 1905." Scanning the web for more King Edward collectibles we found this trivial photo of a Chenard et Walcker 'Tank' (Canada digital collections) in front of a King Edward Hotel...
