Too often is said that vintage cars, veteran cars, Edwardian cars, classic cars, antique cars are a hobby just for the privileged happy few. In one and the same breath people then mention names like Hispano, Bugatti, Maserati and Duesenberg. These chaps do know little - very little - about this hobby and the fact that the vast majority of cars which is still around is more in the same range of the cheap new motorcycles. The majority of pre 1940 cars is in the 5-15,000 range, no matter if you talk Dollars, Euros, Pounds or whatever is in your pocket. We have heard estimates that of the Model T are still something like 300,000 (!) driving specimen around..! (any solid figures around?) And then think of the countless Fiat, Citroen, Chevy's, Austin, etc. The prewar car world is just like the 'real' world. Tons of tin for everybody and a few pieces of guilded tin fo the happy few. It is not of any importance, the thing what it is all about is to have fun with these strange objects, called cars. And to have or to meet a few good friends to share your views about all this. And the bottom-line: it is not of any importance if you find the last remains of a Bugatti Royale or with the remains of this this $ 1200 Buick. That is also the very reason that we keep the threshold ultra low for anybody who wants to sell his car. Since 2001 the basic charge for a first private car For Sale is US$/Euro/GBP Zero-point-zero.
