Eastblock patina.

This was another favourite of mine in our photo/painting competition (by the way why didn't YOU send a photo of your car?). Not just because of the brilliant photo, but because of the story in the picture. This is a car that came to Czecho Slovakia around 1928. Only the Lord above knows what this car has seen in the years prior to the war. After that it survived everything and was kept alive through all the Iron Curtain years. History is all over this piece of metal! For the experts: yes you were right this is a Mc Laughlin Buick, model 28-49, Master Six. According to owner Josef Kubista, it carries a custom-built seven passenger limousine body built by an unknown Czech or German coachbuilder. It has a six OHV 274 (4.5 Ltr.), which in healthy form should produce 77 HP. (photo Josef Kubista, meet him and a quite rare Jawa Jaro car at his virtual museum)
