More news from Belgium. We received an update regarding the Belgian Linon cars which were once produced close to Verviers, Belgium. (see earlier feature story). Not just from an average highly esteemed visitor. But from the grandson of the orginal manufacturer:"...all said on the website is totally correct. The car manufacturer was in fact Louis Linon that started his activities as bicycle manufacturer and as an engineer started afterwards to construct cars with third parties engines in a first step, with his own engines afterwards see enclosed a picture of an engine he had designed and produced. Aside that in 1910 he designed an airplane as well. " , regards Quentin Linon. Is any of you aware of more than the one surviving Linon car ? Or any Linon automobilia? Please tell us about those.

UPDATE III by Nico Claerhout :"In anwser to your question whether there are other remaining Linon cars, I should say I think so as in 1996 I went to see the 100th London Brighton Run and participant 163 was a 1901 Linon. The description as found in the brochure is : 1 cyl - 4 1/2 hp - Vis à vis - registrationnr. BS 8149 owned and driven by John Brydon. As there was no country marked I assume the cars is registered in the UK. "
UPDATE II by Mark Dawber:"...the crankcase castings are quite small. Note that it is in two halves. Presumably refecting the factory's limitations in castings. It could be that it was made from two twins! It is obviously quite early as it has automatic inlet valves."
UPDATE I by Wiggo Karlsen who found a rare Linon postcard.
