Henk Visscher reports that the same car recentyly featured in the Nostalgia Forum (atlasF1.com) (lots of knowledge, drawings and photos)
Paul Linster from Luxembourg writes:"Like René Cozette known for his compressors Marcel Violet was seduced his whole
life by the 2 stroke engine. With his prewar I cyclecars Violet and Violet-Bogey. Then after WW I in the SICAM (Société
Industrielle de Construction d’Automobiles) he constructed 2 stroke 2 cylinder engines of 1058 ccm. Very complicated. He sold them to cyclecar manufacturers Mourre, Weler, Major, Alcyon and Armor, all forgotten today. In 1924 he came with his cyclecar Sima-Violet for the SIMA (Société Industrielle de Matériel Automobile); 2 stroke, flat twin of 497ccm between the front wheels (I have a rather bad pic of front sight of this car. The car on our pic was constructed in 1926, a rather ambitious GP-car with 4 cylinders 1500 ccm, of course 2 stroke. Rather disappointing results, best: 3rd in a Meeting at Boulogne.
Marcel Violet was involved later with Donnet, Mathis, Vinot-Deguingand, Galba and Huascar. Many thanks Paul! (photo collection editor)
