You-tell-us: Quiz # 300

For the past ten years we have presented you with a bi-weekly quiz. Before we make a quiz we are always pretty certain what the make or model is, so we can rightly judge the answers. But today, as we arrive at quiz number 300, we are taking a different approach. This time we put to you only one question: tell us the make (or if perhaps a model) of a pre-war car that has had a production run of -preferably exactly- 300 units! If you can’t find one, name one that's as close as possible, say 298 or 302 units. But your answer must come with proof! In case there is more than one correct answer, we will choose the winner. And the answers of the runners-up we will use as future quizzes. As said above, this time we don’t know the answer… You tell us!
