World Population Day

How many people are there on this planet? A lot... A lot of people also mean a lot of (old) cars. Today the 11th of July it is World Population Day. The United Nations (UN) would like to seek focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues.

This year’s theme is: family planning is a human right. “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1968 International Conference on Human Rights, where family planning was, for the first time, globally affirmed to be a human right”, as described by the UN.

Also, we from PreWarCar.com would like to pay attention to this very important topic. As it was not that obvious that “parents have a basic human right to determine freely and responsibly the number and spacing of their children” in America back in the 30ies when the photograph shown was taken. But it is perhaps even more worrying that today it doesn`t matter where you are on the world, not every man or woman, boy or girl has; “the human right to determine the direction and scope of his or her future in a fundamental way”.

We are convinced that this should change. Of course, this is easier said than done. But start with thinking about your own situation, and how you are personally able to help someone else improving their human rights.

We ought to have everyone try to identify the cars in each row. I'll start with the inside row only coming this way, beginning with the car that has four upright posts shielding part of it which us:
1926 Studebaker
1932 Essex-Terraplane
1935 Studebaker
1937 Buick
1929 Franklin
1936 Hudson Coupe
1931 Ford A
1927 Chrysler
1927 Huppmobile
Now it's someone else's turn to take a row. Let the readers know what you think. Thanks.
