When one purchases a new old car, it is always necessary to do some work on it. Some cars just need a good polish, but some need just a little bit more TLC. Last week, two BMW barn-finds came up for sale on our website. In the office, there were some discussions about if they really are worth saving.
We are sure someone will be very happy to take on this job (as they were sold very quickly) Maybe a hobbyist who has some spare time and would like to do this at home. Or maybe someone who just wants a car like this and will bring it to a professional restorer. We are definitely sure that when the car is ready, it is an absolute beauty. But it can also become a special. Or for parts? Well, we are interested to hear your opinion.
Please leave a comment if you think this car is worth saving and in what way. Or if you think they need to get scrapped.
Every one who doubts that one day it might be finished I grant a glance onto my Indian Sport Scout that around 25 years ago I granted a new lease of life despite that every one declared me mad.
Like in mountaineering the way how we get there is a big part of the enjoyment.
Conclusion, if you want to have fun and a challenge restore it, if you want to earn money with it, it's your business and not your hobby and it is your own business case that you have to make.
