We all know what it is, but where is this? Exactly! Not a real tough quiz this time. Just a little test to see how knowledgeable the real insiders are. You have exactly 24 hours as from 01.00 GMT Saturday, December 4th to enter your best answer under 'Add new comment' . The more precise your answer, the better your chance to win the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt. No week of waiting this time! We'll publish all answers on Monday and let you know our decision. Enjoy weekend and be precise!
UPDATE II: thank you, you taught us all an awfull lot about probably the most beautiful skyskraper in the world. If you want to learn/see even more check Google Images and learn how much the building was inspired by features (radiator, mascot & hubcaps) of the Model '29 Chrysler cars. Of all senders who knew about the existing ceiling mural by Edward Turnbull, only a few came nearer than saying it is in the Lobby of Chrysler Building(it is a vast lobby!). Most elegant answer was by Robb Stewart who wrote: "...enter the lobby of the Chrysler Building and look up." But he's a jury member. So this weeks winner is Holger Kempf: "You see this part of the painting with your first steps in the lobby, its over the entrance." Congratulations Holger!
UPDATE: Thank you for the m-a-s-s-i-v-e response to this little quiz!!!
To point out a winner we first have to determine the exact location of the object. Most competitors referred to the building, but this of course is a mural painting depicting the famous building, not the building itself. In terms of location 'New York' is not precise enough. Manhattan either, nor the junction of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, not even the umpteen times seen GPS data for the building have proved to come close enough to win.
Competitors referring to the painting are still in the 'the race'. We are in the proces of evaluating responses of Richard Armstrong, Ryan Noble, David Miller, Pjotter, Stuart Penketh, Holger Kempf, Robb Stewart and Karl Darby. We will be back later.
