Immediately we came across this 1936 Fordson Truck, we thought this would make a perfect (small) car transporter. We have already been envisioning it, the Fordson with, on the flatbed, a little lightweight- or cycle car on its way, for instance, to a trials event. The truck is in a fully, and wonderfully, restored condition and has a 2226cc flat-head V8 engine. It comes with a considerable history file and is offered for sale in Brightwells’ timed auction, which ends on the 13th of May 2021. What would you like to see on the back of this Fordson?
What do you think of this Austin Seven Mulliner Saloon? Ready for the 2022 Centenary, and a car with a history that is full of coincidences. The auctioneer tells us “This 1929 Mulliner lived in Taunton in 1950 according to its buff logbook, moving to Ludlow in 1954 from where it was spotted from the train near the station by an Austin enthusiast in 1960. He tipped off his friend who immediately set off with his dad to rescue the car which was by now living outside. The car was duly located, but a sale had already been agreed with a local dealer, so he was tracked to a local hostelry and made a quick 100% profit - although at £2 - 10 shillings nobody was going to retire on the proceeds. The car was immediately collected and towed on a rope 28 miles home…”. You can read the full story here.
Do you think this lovely original Morris Eight would suit? Have a look at the beautifully patinated interior of this 1938 Saloon. The car was supplied new in Wem, Shropshire, and has lived locally ever since. Recently the engine underwent a full overhaul and is now ready for many more miles.
Other cars in the auction that are definitely worth looking at (although probably a little bit too large to go on the truck) include a 1935 Talbot AW75 Six-Light Saloon, 1936 Railton Cobham Deluxe Saloon and 1938 Frazer-Nash BMW 320.
