What we see here is a whole line-up of cars, all of the same make. They are gathered here because four of them plus the truck are about to start on an epic journey. We write four, but contemporary reports are inconsistent as some speak of five cars and two trucks carrying spare parts and supplies. The company that made these cars started in 1903 with the manufacture of automobile parts. Five years later they made their first automobiles, but due to a contract with a large automobile manufacturer couldn't use their own name legally. When the contract was terminated they introduced the models seen here. They were named after the owner of the company, Arthur L. ???, who later designed a peculiar headlight for his six-cylinder model. Production lasted only two years. Study this enlargement and tell us the make and year of this automobile. But we would also like to know about this caravan, which was an organized tour for well-to-do Easterners by a touring agency. Where they started and where they were going was written on the white canvas cover of the truck, so we photoshopped that out of the way (click main pic!).
