It's a Mercedes staff car. One that had a role in the dark era of WWII. But there are still lots of blanks to fill in. But first a few hints. The coupe as shown here (or a sister car) was in use by Dr. Arthur Seyss-Inquart (Spartacus.Schoolnet.co.uk), the "Reichkommissar" during the occupation of The Netherlands in WWII. As this car was in army service it was not what we would call a "Superleggera", on the contrary! Maybe of help to you, the car involved had engine number #408 387 and they were built in small numbers and only during a short time. It is not known if any of these cars are still around.
