What is it ? # 321

This is a post war car according to an article in "The Autocar". Yet, chances that you have ever seen one in the flesh are near to zero, still it is quite a famous oddball. Here some hints. The radiator probably looks familiar, but don't let yourself taken away by that impression. Crawling under the car you should be able to find more familiar parts. And when you give a proper look at the not so straight eight engine you propbably will come to the conclusion that is a mix of French and British technology. No wonder if you know that the man who developed this versatile limousine was an agent for various grand makes, and had a wide range of very usable spare parts at this disposal...  All this is vividly described by David Burgess Wise some time ago. When you go back even more you will find the car described in The Autocar.  Anyway when you know about the engine, you know the full story. The man who created it said: "My car has no freaks, nor is it a freak car."
Well that's what we have. Now up to you to cough up the details. The best answer will win the as ever infamous PreWarCar T-shirt. Post your answer in the comment section below. But read The Rules under Read More before doing so. (winner & photo source to be disclosed next Saturday)
