Weird Wednesday:
The Druid Princess

As a rule we don’t do Hot Rods at PreWarCar. Then we met The Druid Princess and thought: what the heck, rules are meant to be broken once in a while! Sure, it isn’t pre-war… shall we settle on Medieval? The Druid Princess was especially commissioned by the ABC for the ghoulish ‘Addams Family’ tv-series, however the show was cancelled before the Princess was completed. Created by Ed Big Daddy Roth, the rod was built by the team of Woods and Jacobs on a steel tube frame with the coachwork made out of fiberglass and picture frames! The engine is a Dodge V8, but don’t be impressed by the big blower. Okay, linkages are all hooked up, the pulleys spin and the butterflies open, yet the inside is hollow and contains a four-barrel Carter carb! The Druid Princess is part of a whole series of American racing, hot rod and custom vehicles to be auctioned by RM at the Icons of Speed & Style event on September 26th. And on the off chance that you don’t like rods, the auction also includes a rare 1910 Sears Delivery Truck that might be just your thing!
