Two mysteries in Buenos Aires

As it is Monday, today another mystery, actually we have two mysteries. This week`s mystery photographs were taken in Buenos Aires in Argentina. We received both photographs at the same time, from the same sender. The people in both of them are from the same family. When they were taken exactly, we do not know.

We received the following caption: “the photographs were given to me by a member of the family in the photograph.” About the second photograph (the one below) the sender wrote us: “might this be a Mathis?”. We think this is highly unlikely. What do you think?

Can anyone tell us more about the car in the head photo or the pre-war taxi in the second photograph? Please comment below.

Mr. Politi, I take my work serious. I would like you to respect that in the same way many other people do, fortunately. If you have any serious critism or if you have better ideas, please share them with us. However keep your humourless humour to yourself, your friends or maybe another forum which hopefully will appreciate your nonsense more. Thank you.

Nice cars! They don't come often from Argentina, photos from this era. I'm looking forward to see more!
The identification of the first photo was not very straightforward, because of the distortion in the roundness of the radiator. Is it the scan or the photo itself? Anyway, it is a ca 1911 Hotchkiss phaeton. Important id-features are the 6-spoke steering wheel, the grips on the bonnet, the flat-sloping dumb irons and the (more or less) round radiator with straight bottom.
The coupé chauffeur was easier to identify: it is a Motobloc from a few years later, probably 1914. Id-features: a very characteristic coupe-vent radiator and the grip above the bonnet louvres.

The first car is a Hotchkiss (16/20HP?).
