Two Belgian Baron Mysteries (Update: De Dion Bouton, Darracq, Peugeot...)

These two photos were sent to us by Korben Guns. He writes: "I've been trying to identify these cars for a while now without success. The owner was Baron Paul van Reynegom de Buzet from Belgium.
The first picture shows the baron's first car, and according to the numberplate it's the fifth car in Belgium. Underneath the picture it simply says: 'My first car, circa 1890'. Considering there was recently an item on coal scuttle bonnets on the website some may allready know what it is.
The second picture was taken in 1913. It shows the baron's chauffeur posing next to the car. Both the car and driver were repositioned during the first world war to transport the general staff behind the river 'Ijzer'. I don't know what happened to it after the war.
Considering the Baron also bought a Minervette in 1904, the others might have also been built in Belgium."

I think the Peugeot could be a Type 145 which was introduced in 1913; the Type 150 wasn't built until 1914.

Thank you Ariejan Bos for the term "dumb iron" which is not frequently heard. I have OFTEN wondered the intent of the obviously LARGE extra cost of fabrication(rolling mills?), that clearance could easily be achieved with leaf spring spacers on either side of the axle.
Any old timers?

the second looks just like my 1914 Peugeot 153, but with small differences. I have only one spare tyre, and the coachbuilt body lines are different and rear wings different. Whether a 150, 153, or 160, well that's a bit difficult but one of those pretty sure.

The newer car is of course a Peugeot and could indeed be a type 150. I tend to think however that a type 153 would fit slightly better, but the image quality is not enough to be fully sure. By the way, a type 160 doesn't seem to have existed, the type 176 was released in the mid twenties and had a completely different appearance. The other car may look like a De Dion-Bouton, but is a 1902 Darracq. Very characteristic are the short bent dumb irons and the V-shaped crank handle support.

I think the 1913 photo is of a, new in 1913, Peugeot Type 176.

The car in the main picture looks like a circa 1902 De Dion Bouton, although with non-original front fenders.
