Leslie Wood read our earlier article about one of the Royal signals jumping a car and rightly thought that we would be interested to see more. He writes: “This is my car RV3691 - Triumph Super Nine Tourer being jumped by a member of the White Helmets motorcycle display team on a Triumph motorcycle at Catterick Army Garrison, North Yorkshire in 1974.
The occupant of the car is Captain Clement James who was the person responsible for buying and removing the car from a scrap yard in 1960, where he sketched this picture. With the help of a local garage, they "restored" it to a road worthy condition and shortly after "restoring" it, for a small bet he then drove the Triumph to St Peters Square in Rome in 1961.”
That was quite a feat of endurance, wonder how long the trip took ?
I think my choice in this photo would be the Bike ....
