Treasure found on own garage wall.

Gary Wales from California has a 'poster' hanging on his workshop wall for over 25 years. Only recently he decided to sell it. Toby Wilson of Bonhams & Butterfields recognized it as a very rare print done by Cyril Power (click) in 1932 of Sir Malcolm Campbell's Bluebird world land speed record car. What Gary thought was a few hundred dollar print turned out to be a world class garage find (on his own garage wall ) valued to 100.000 pounds ($165.000 ) it will be in the London print auction next April.

The last print Cyril Power was number 18 and sold for 96 thousand pounds. This one is number 7 , is signed twice, in the original frame and is very crisp(click main photo). How is that for a garage find?

I confess! I've never heard of Cyril Power. But I have an original A.F. McNeil painting of the Bluebird (McNeil was of course the cheif designer at Gurney Nutting, who bult the Bluebird body), which would have been done for Malcolm Campbell. That seems to me a lot rarer than a C. Power print. But what do I know about automobilia? (It ain't art, that's for sure)
