Can you see yourself touring in this sporty MG PA? Imagine sitting behind the wheel admiring the wonderful cherry apple blossom, isn`t that the ultimate enjoyment of Spring? Does this sound a little bit too sweet for you? And do you rather go out on rough terrain? Then this little 1934 car is also tough enough to compete in trials. Which is exactly what the previous owner did with the car.
This black and green MG PA is specifically created and prepared to compete (and win!) trials. The PreWar was originally supplied with a 4 seater body. But between 2007 and 2014 a new ash frame was made by Enrique Llinares which he skinned with steel panels. Before they put everything back together, the chassis (no. PA1353) was shot blasted and painted and the 19” wheels were powder coated in green. “The engine was rebuilt by MG expert Ken Robinson using a new cylinder block, Venolia pistons, new cylinder head, rocker gear and camshaft. A Phoenix crankshaft and con rods were supplied by Baynton James. In the interests of reliability, the clutch was uprated, and a stronger Morris differential was fitted to the back axle. The brakes have recently been relined and the steering overhauled,” as described by Brightwells. All receipts of the work carried out (total £16,000) are included in the extensive history file.
BNU 592 was accepted by the VSCC. And as mentioned earlier, has already some experience in trialling and has competed in exciting hill climbs. This 1934 MG PA is ready for more Spring fun and is looking for a new driver! Are you two driving the trophy home after the event? The car will be auctioned by Brightwells, Leominster Classic & Vintage and is estimated between £15,000 and £18,000.
