Last Monday we showed you the remains of a tubular chassis. Reader Graeme Jarrett from Australia was quick to identify it as being from a ca. 1912 Humberette. And just last week much more information about this car has come to light. At the early seventies the car was in a breaker’s yard near Lucknow in India when several photos were taken of it. The car remained there until the 1990’s. Since then the body has disintegrated completely, although a new one can be made locally. Still, lots of work will need to be done before this Humberette is back on the road and the owner asks our help in locating an engine, a radiator, a bonnet and other missing parts. Who knows where these parts can be sourced? (RB) (photos courtesy Harit)
Update: Harit from India informs us that the Humberette was not in a breakers yard. It was the residential compound of the owner at that time, an erstwhile Maharaja. The Humberette is pictured between a 1918 Studebaker and a Ford Model T.
