The Ram from Down Under (UPDATE: not a convertible)

One of the better known -and certainly one of the largest- coachbuilders in Australia was TJ Richards & Sons. Based in Adelaide, South Australia, the company produced bodies for all kinds of makes: Amilcar, Citroën and Morris, just to name a few. Richards also had a contract with Dodge Bros to supply bodies for the bare chassis they shipped to Australia. When Chrysler took over Dodge this contract became even more important and helped Richards through the 1930s crisis. One of their flagships was this stylish 1936 Dodge D2, a five-passenger convertible coupe that has bodynumber 461 of just 500 made. The coupe was sold by Harden & Johnston in Sydney, although it is not known for whom it was built. After spending several years in Victoria, the rare coachbuilt Dodge was then imported to the UK where it will be offered by Coys at their Spring Classics Auction on March 12. Check lot 446 for more details about this Down Under Ram. (photos courtesy Coys)

Update by Kit Foster who was very quick in spotting our writing error. This is certainly no convertible, but a real Coupe!
