Over the years we have shown you an enormous lot of mysteries. Most of them have been solved, thanks to your input, but there are some that received no response whatsoever. So we thought that with the growth of our readership, the ever increasing knowledge thanks to internet, Google and Wikipedia, why not re-publish an old mystery. For instance 'The Railway Inn Mystery' published in 2005. It was a picture we received from Beaulieu's Motoring Picture Library of a vehicle that was parked on a steep hill in front of the Railway Inn owned by Henry Turner. No reaction came for a long time, but only recently we received a comment from a reader who said that the location was Station Bank, Mow Cop, in Cheshire. It was used as an early hill climb course and he was told that Foden tested his steam lorries here too. Reason enough to re-open this case. Perhaps this clue might help to solve the identity of this mysterious motorcar!
Update by Ariejan Bos who found in his archive a (small) picture of a car that looks very similar to the Mow Cop Mystery Car. The mudguards and the very low body look the same and on the radiator it says "SCAT"! If you look very closely, even the occupants of the car look to be the same persons!
