The moment that we launch this Monday feature, many of you still will be partying in the Western-Europe Carnival. Or you may have entered a long-long sleep to recover from the same...
'This photo was shot near Koeln-Bonn in Germany during Carnival. Not yesterday or today but many years back. Harit from India (!) found the photo recently. Despite the XX-large Mercedes-Benz star held by a man seated on the hood, the automobile looks more like a prewar DKW cabriolet. The background shop is upside down, probably a used part used as a temporary cover, common practice after the world war.' Harit is interested to learn which year this photo can be and which exact DKW we are looking at. And....er... take it easy when you're still suffering from a Carnival hang-over. JB

Update by Frans Vrijaldenhoven: "According to the shape of the louvres of the bonnet it seems to me that that the type of DKW, the F7, must have been built in the years 1937-'38"
