The Bombay K Mystery (Upd. 1939 Hudson)

One of the photos from the collection of Harit Trivedi shows this mysterious sedan. It looks American, but we have no clue as to what kind of car this really is. It looks heavily modified, but if so, the job was done very well. The only clue we have is that by looking at the licence plate it must be pre-1938 or 1939 as the 'K' series of registration numbers was the last series of Bombay Presidency before all vehicles were re-registered in 1939/1940. This followed the introduction of a new motor vehicle act and all registrations changed to three alphabets and up to four digits. Can you help us?

It is definitely a Hudson. There was one in Eaton Place, London. Now long gone. I had one, but the wheels fell off.

1939 Hudson Model 92, with 96 hp six-cylinder-engine. Home in America it was a mid-priced car.
That same year Hudson celebrated their 30 th anniversary, over 2,5 million cars had been built.
It has not been customized in any way, the front is 100 % orginal.

It is a 1939 Hudson, and not modified as far as I can see. There were several different models but this might be the version on a 122" wb, could be either a series 93 six or a series 95 eight.

This car looks as if it is a modified Hudson Terraplane !937? reccesed lights on fron look very V8 or Lincoln Zephyr from the same period.
The Grill treatment looks very Chevy from 1937?
Be very interested to hear other opinions,,but these are my thoughts.

It's a 1939 Hudson. It appears to be a Pacemaker Series 91 Six or a Series 92 Hudson Six. I expect Kit Foster will make the definitive model ID.

This photo from the NZ Hudson Essex Terraplane Club depicts a similar right hand drive '39 Sedan (an unrestored survivor?) with owner Paul Dunningham:
