Are you tough enough for the Flat Lands? (Update: don't forget the Measham Night Rally)

Sunday December 19th will feature once again  "The 100 Miles of Amsterdam", the only night rally strictly for pre 1940 cars. Every aspect of pleasant vintage motoring is present: rain, storm, darkness, lightning, fog, black spots, icing, not to forget the joys of open air map reading. All your skills and the more hidden virtues of your motorcar will have the chance to come out. Here you really test your 6V vintage headlights, your vacuum driven wipers, your damp resistant - cotton - overall. In view of the fact that postwar accesoires are strictly forbidden, you can check the literature for period avantgarde equipment. Like the predecessor of the postwar Speedpilot: the  one that was employed in the 1938 Monte Carlo. The  Bakker-Schut clocks are easy to recognise, as they are about a foot in diameter. The only problem, only fourteen were made. But don't despair. In about every rally the secret of winning lies in making sure that your car will survive 100 wet miles and... in proper map reading. So  straighten your back and secure one of the 50 starter positions.
