Something very interesting

Letter to the editor

Here is something very interesting. This is a special built 'underslung' racer using what looks to be a Napier Colonial chassis flipped up side down. You can see the track rod is in front of the axle which is a good indication of a Napier. The dumbirons are steeply curved as a Colonial model has. The steering is on the left because that is what happens when you flip a RHD chassis over. The radiator does not look to be Napier, but then again it is a special.

This beautiful coloured photo is a 1914 Napier Colonial, which I think the underslung racer was made from.

The race car photos were taken at Hastings Park in east Vancouver, 1921. I mentioned the radiator did not look to be from a Napier, but after looking at the picture of the Colonial which had a more rounded top it could be. What a great looking car and I am sure a lot of fun to drive.
