This picture captures the family A. van Dongen, little boy, Henk van Dongen, 6 years old, father in law of Rick Nicolaas, in Rotterdam around 1924. They pose before the camera with their Herderson de Luxe motorbike, (one reverse gear)(1301cc?) before they start on a 2 months trip around Europe on the bike. See the little Dutch flags? Mr. A. van Dongen was an engineer of the private yacht of Mr. Anton Kroller. An industrialist who's wife Helene Kroller-Muller had the largest art collection.( Kröller Muller Museum). He had an accident at work one day and the company gave him two months off with pay. So he and his family decided to travel for these two months from The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, France, Italy (Mont Blanc), Switzerland, France and through Belgium back home. UPDATE II by Kees Koster who is convinced this is no Henderson. The downbent exhaust makes him say it must be a V-twin Excelsior around '22.
