Rhodesian hunting party mystery
Another mystery car to start the week. Someone's Dad and Grandad obviously on a hunting trip, with each their own Rhodesian Ridgeback breed hunting dog. However, we would like to know what make the cars are in the photo, although the car with the Salisbury, Southern Rhodesian registration, on the left, is thought to be a Fiat, but of what type and which year?

At the left side it is an Donnet CI7 from 1929

Can I take the Fiat comment back. The front hubcap sticks out too far for a vintage Fiat and look the wrong shape for a hubcap that is no bigger than the hub. Headlights look more American then factory Fiat 509. Sounds like more credence for an Erskine.

The left car could be a Fiat 509. The car is clearly smaller than the Ford Model A and so if a Fiat the options are limited. If a 509 it will have an aluminium cover over the generator which is driven by the front of the crankshaft. There is a glimpse of a cover between the bumper bars. However the headlights do not look factory type.

An update - I am now sure the car on the left is a 1927 Erskine. The angular radiator was replaced with slightly more rounded edges for 1928. It also has the factory front bumper seen that year only.

The car behind I think is a 1930 fiat 513 torpedo tourer the car in front definitely a 1928 model a ford with no outside door handles and model a welded spoked wheels

On the right is a Ford Model A - the earlier 1928-29 variant. On the left - I think - is a 1927 Erskine Model 50 - the first year for the Erskine.
