Did you already think about this year’s summer/winter holiday? Maybe you have already booked something. If not, we have some ideas for you. You can ship your beloved pre-war to a sunny destination on the other side of the world. To explore the unknown and go on a real adventure…
But of course, not everyone is in this luxurious position. Probably even more important, there are lots of people that rather have something low-key. Then the bus on the photographs could be ideal! You can, for instance, invite your friends and family to join you on a trip to the seaside. More than enough room for (perhaps just as important) their luggage. Wouldn`t that be great fun!
Let me tell you, there are some similarities between the story we just told you and the bus on the photographs. This particular bus was owned by Rod Fulton his uncle. From 1915 he ran a bus service from Barwon Heads (a small seaside town) to Geelong both in Vicotria, Australia.
He picked up holidaymakers from the Paddle Steamers and Trains, coming to Geelong from all over Victoria. A journey of approximately 15 miles. As there only were sand roads, this trip could take up to 3-4 hours… But when you finally arrived at your destination….!
Now, we would like to know, if there is there is anyone that can help Rod. He would like to know a little bit more about this bus his uncle owned. Can anyone tell him the make, the year, or has other information concerning the bus(service)?
