Over 800 historic locations to discover

Book review by Michael E Ware: I first heard about the book "Motorsport Explorer" some months before publication. At last I thought a book that will tell me the locations of those many trials hills I had read about in books by C.A.N. May. On opening the book I find that it only covers speed event locations. However, I was not disappointed with the content. The author had scoured many magazines and books and noted down every location from the earliest days where speed events were held. He then gives a location, dates between which they were in use and a précis of the events and the road layout and illustrates many of them. Some are of course still in use today. The entries are laid out by county and provided you have a basic knowledge of UK geography are easy to find. Possibly an index would have helped. (continue at Read More)

Can that be a twin cylinder Royce on the right in the second photo? And if so, is that FHR standing alongside?
