Where is this Horch 853 sport cabriolet?

Most of the time, when we receive photographs people send us a request for information about the identification of the car in the photograph(s). But this time it is different.

Orla Wittrup sent us these photographs from (in all likelihood) a HORCH 853 sports cabriolet 1936. They are taken when the car was in Copenhagen in 1962. Her father was a private driver for the owner of A.C. Bang, Aage Bang from 1935 until 1939. This is also the reason why she is interested in the destiny of the car.

We also know the motor number, which is 850901. And the chassis number, which is 853405 (Gläser-Dresden). The car was registered in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 25th of November 1936 as K374 by A.C. Bang.

Is there anyone who knows if the car is still around? If so, where is the car and who currently owns it? All the little bits of information can help and are more than welcome. Please comment below if you can help us.

Correction: The three photos mentioned on March 15th 2018 are taken before 1948 because the bunkers you can see in the background were removed in 1947 and therefore the photos are not from 1962! Sorry!

The 1989 register by Gotfried Pampel gives the following 853’s in Denmark:
Aalholm automuseum, 4880 Nysted
Bohnstedt-Petersen, 3400 Hilleroed
Sven Kristensen, 1850 Kopenhagen
P.H.Rasmussen, 3060 Espegaerde
And many in Sweden. So check these out.
The 853 is not a rare car!

The owner, Aage Bang. apparently died in 1953 and in his last will left money to create a fund to assist scientific research which still exists!

I would have to look into my files this weekend. In any case we are seeing here a standard factory built Horch 853 sportcabriolet totally unrelated to Glaeser in Dresden.

Around 15-17 years ago the british auction company Christies sold a black Horch 853 with danish history. I seem to remember that it was sold at a Paris auction. Could be this one.
