"I have been viewing your site for a few years now, perhaps it is my turn to contribute. Today I removed from the property "Colstoun" 5 hours North West of Sydney a 1927 Lancia Lambda 7th series that had lived on this property since new (!). Lady Miller - wife of Sir Dennison Miller the first Governor of The Commonwealth Bank Of Australia - brought the Lambda to do the then 10 hour drive from Gunnedah to Sydney as her current 1923 Citroen was too gutless and took too long going over the hills. At the time she also considered a 30-98 Vauxhall but decided it was too much of a "blacksmith job" compared to the Lambda that was demonstrated to her at the time. The Lambda was used as an every day car until the mid fifties by the Miller family until it was retired in favour of a MKVII Jaguar. It was given a respray and tidy up in the late sixties by her grandson Jack Dixon who used it sparingly over the next 20 years. A cracked head finally saw final use of the car with Jack. Earlier this year Jack passed away and bequeathed the Lamdba to David Egan a long time friend of Jack's. The car is very complete and original. It has the original sales brochure and quote for supply of the car, full extensive complement of original tools, the original fitted alligator hide Italian suitcase for the trunk and nearly all the original embossed leather upholstery (click)." Regards David Egan (editor: thank you for sharing this with us, you may have raised an eyebrow here and there by treading on Vauxhall toes, but we know they can handle that. We wish you all possible pride and joy with your baby blue beauty ! )
