Mystery six in line and body remains (update: 1946/47 Rover P2 engine?)

Mr. Andersen is sending a curious request asking you to indentify an engine and part(?) of a body of which only the firewall is showing.  We wonder is there nothing else to see or doesn't Mr. Andersen want us to see the full picture? Very strange. Anyway this hobby is full of strange corners and let's say intriguing people.
Anyway he cannot identify the 6 cylinder engine with its slightly unusual sparkplug arrangement. 'Does anybody know what 6 cylinder engine this is?' The alloy valvecover has a brass plate saying in English that the tappet clearance should be 010". The engine itself is numbered #7410494 or 74/0494. Mr. Andersen is also keeping the remainders of a body (connected with this engine) with the number ST 543. It's not sure if engine and shown firewall are from the one and same car. Any ideas? Or opinions for what it's worth...

UPDATE: here finally some photos from the outer looks of the car (click here)

This engine is a Rover P2 16 of 1947. 67.5mm bore by 100mm stroke 2147cc. Make sure the radiator is in excellent condition as these engines have a tendency to overheat. Have a look at a photo of a standard Rover 16 saloon and note the vents in the bonnet sides to assist cooling. The standard radiator in good condition is sufficient don't feel the need to oversize the core, it shouldn't be necessary but an electric fan might be worthwhile.

Well, I remember the car beeing a theme in one of the germany´s classic car magazines only a couple of month ago. It came from India supposedly embassy owned but I think it´s one of those mix´n match look a like´s. So the owner will probably find out that all other parts are just as difficult to find out about. If the owner is interrested I can search my archive for the magazine.
kind regards from Tyrol

I agree with Colin Swinbourne, it does appear to be a Rover P2 engine, but post, not pre-war (i.e. about 1946-7)
However, the radiator shell does not look 'Rover', nor the wheels. Something pre-war fitted with a Rover engine later? Or a specially-constructed 'one-off' on a rover chassis?
Any more photos?

Regards, Peter.
