Mysteries from the Sooke Region Museum in BC

Last week we received a message from Duncan. On a recent visit to the Sooke Region Museum in British Colombia in Canada, he came across some interesting pictures. "The one of the police is from 1937 when Vancouver Island had three policemen", is what he told us. We also had a look in the BC archive and found another picture of the three police officers.

Duncan also sent us these two pictures – today's Monday Mysteries.

Picture 1 shows a lady with a child on the running board.

Picture 2 shows three gentlemen in an unknown car.

Who can help us out and tell us what PreWarCars we see in these two pictures?

Picture 1 seems to be a 6 cylinder Buick of 1917 or 1918. Difficult to pinpoint the exact year, but probably a specialist will know. Picture 2 is indeed an Oakland, a 1913 model 42 to be precise.

The first car looks to be a McLaughlin. The second car could be a Humber with a nice torpedo body. At first I thought it was a Napier.
