The Morel Magneto Mystery

Graig Little from Australia recently acquired this rather impressive magneto. He writes: "It is far too large to use on my cars. I wonder If anyone out there can tell me what vehicles used it and if the Morel name bears any relation to the André Morel who drove for Amilcar. It is marked BMC 4, Series 565 and incorporates an impulse starter. Also much of the casing is aluminium so that it is "relatively" light for a Large 4 cylinder magneto./distributor."
Ideas, anyone?
