Depicted here is the truck of Theodorus Kruishaar who was operating as a contractor in Amsterdam since the early twenties. The men picked up a load of sand and grass slabs which probably came in with a freight sailer that's on a second photo. Location is the Amsteldijk just north of the Tol-street (the housing facade has hardly changed since). It is a nice and strong combo of photos telling lots of stories to anyone who likes to go into the relation between boat and truck and transport systems in the twenties. The only question for you that we have at this point: is this a Model TT Ford truck (also compare these utilities). Please let us know. (family collection of Mr. van Scheppingen)
UPDATE III by Kit Foster: "I agree with Hugh Nutting that it's a Chevrolet, and he's probably right about 1927."
UPDATE II by Hugh Nutting:"It looks like a 1927 Chevy to me. The rear fender is not Ford. There are a couple of other things I see, too. The shape of the front fender and the running board aprons Plus I think I see a spare tyre rack under the rear which is a Chevy feature.'
UPDATE I by Bas de Voogd: "Most certainly this is a T Type based truck, specially the hub caps reveal nothing else. But quite likely it is a Dutch conversion incorporating a chassis strengthening package incl heavier front wheels too. "
