Looking for an F.N. Connoisseur (UPDATE: 1913 type 2400?)

While doing research on local history Bas de Voogd found these pictures of a well-dressed family on their way to church. The car belonged to the village doctor, a Mr. van Asselt. It’s obviously a F.N., one of the cars made by the Belgian factory “Fabrique Nationale d’Armes des Guerre”. This company started in 1889 producing weapons for the Belgian government and went into motorcar production in 1900. Motorcycles followed in 1901. This car looks to have been made around 1910-1912, but further it’s a bit of a mystery to us. Can someone throw some more light on this particular model? Contact us (RB)

Update III by Philippe Peeters who agrees with the FN being a more recent 1912-1913 model 2400: “The front axle of the 1908 FN 2000 A in the Mahy collection is different from this one being curved and the springs aren’t joined by a transversal bar.”
Update II: Luc Ryckaert from Belgium says that a picture of a similar car appeared in "Pages d`Histoire...l’Automobile FN" in the FN Revue, a magazine issued by the factory in better times. According to the text it should be the FN 2400, 1913, with 4 cilinder monobloc and metal disc clutch.”
Update I by Bart Oosterling: “A very similar FN is described in the catalogue of "Autoworld" / the Mahy collection in Brussels (Belgium). It is a 1908 type 2000A: four-cylinder in two blocks (84x90), 1995 cc, cardan drive.”

As grandson and great grandson of the family in question, I can unequivocally state that they were not on their way to church.
