Long distance restoration.

Proudly posing next to the wooden frame of a 1922 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8 is Dennis Compter. He and his father Hans are well-known for their New Zealand based business selling mostly pre-war automobiles and spare parts, but another less-know activity of the company is restoration. Currently they are working on six pre-1930 cars for European customers. Especially Dennis with his coachbuilding skills is full time engaged in the work, on average he has built one complete body frame per year over the past ten years. The rest of his time is spent on chassis restoration, assembly and making of wooden steering wheel rims. Apart from the Isotta Fraschini, Dennis has been working on a 1924 Minerva 20hp Type ZZ and a 1924 big Fiat Tipo 519S Torpedo Speziale which is now getting its panels. Dennis also did the restoration of this rare 3 Litre Austro Daimler ADM with factory tourer body that was finished 1½ year ago after nearly a seven year restoration period caused by a number of missing parts. That car is now at the Porsche museum.
