Keith Sparks wrote to tell us about his 1922 Auburn Beauty SIX:
“I bought this car in 1970 at 14 years old. Driven in to a Vermont field for additional barn space in 1958. It was complete with rotted side curtains when I found it. When I went to college my dad sold it to have more room for his projects. Which was innocent since he did not know how I attached to it I was. Sold to a gentleman who wanted to restore it and put in a museum in Canada in 1976. Lost track of the new owner. Later I started advertising and eventually searching the internet. In 2003 I found the exact same car that I owned as my first car project with my father, thus a miracle that I own the same car again. Life is good and restoration project is a labour of love with strong memory of my father.” (text & photo Keith Sparks – Editor’s note: Probably there are less than 10 Auburn Beauty Sixes left in the world and perhaps only one or two 1922s. If anyone can help with spares, please let us know!)
Update by Hugh Nutting: "The Auburn Beauty-Six was still very much an 'assembled' car. It came out in 1919 and was the last design under the Eckhart Brothers. It was a good car using parts from well known sources. It has a Jacox steering like GM used and the front axle was by Canton foundry Ohio [still building locomotive parts]. This axle was first used in the 1913 to 1919 Abbott-Detroit cars. I replaced the bent axle on my A-D with a 1920 Auburn front-end. Some of the early Hollander interchange books may provide other cross-over bits."
