La Vente Officielle!

On Friday the 9th of February 2018 Artcurial Motorcars will auction at Salon Rétromobile in Paris.

The Volante Collection which will be sold includes various fascinating Vanvooren-bodied cars from manufacturers, as Panhard et Lavassor, Voisin, Rolls Roys and Hispano Suiza. Martin Waltz who collected the cars in his museum has now decided to sell part of his collection to make room. It could, therefore, be, that you already have seen one of the cars in the Volante exhibition. Which attracted thousands of visitors over the last couple of years. Next week you have the opportunity to purchase a high-quality French-bodied car in museum condition.

One of the cars is this luxurious 1938 Bentley 4 1/4L Coupé Vanvooren. Elegant coachwork with Vanvooren body No. 2914. Ordered by Lucie Vogt on the 18th of October 1937. A woman with style we must say. The elegant body is in a beautifully restored condition and still has the original blue leather upholstery. If you are not familiar driving a car like this. Don`t worry, the original Bentley instructions manual comes with the car! We really hope that next week there is a Parisienne who is able to order/purchase the car, and takes the Bentley out this summer to enjoy the smell of the wonderful smelling purple lavender fields.

Look also at the condition of this very original 1937 Horch 853 Sport Cabriolet, another car form the collection. Making it even better is the extraordinary documented history. The overall look, but especially the inside of the car makes you almost feel part of this history again. Making some of the signs of wear real art.

There is much more to see and buy. For instance, this 1936 Delahaye. A very 135 Coupé des Alpes Cabriolet Mylord Chapron. This six-cylinder is in the 1990s restored by the well-known French restorer André Lecoq. Setting a really high standard during the following international Concourse d ’Elegances as on the track in the Le Mans 24 Hours and during the Monte Carlo Rally. This desirable model is in its current condition ready to make a real impression during many international events. Be there on Friday at 2 pm for lot 1 to 131!

BUT! If you stay one more night in Paris. There is more to see on Saturday the 10th of February. Do you like something a little bit sporty and don`t plan on participating in a Concourse d ’Elegances? Then we have something made for you! A rare 1937 Georges Irat Type MDU 6CV. Part of the Broual Collection. This light and very low little blue car is a front wheel drive with four independent wheels. Making this car a rather comfortable roadster. Powered by an 1100 cc Ruby Du engine with overhead valves, developing 37 bhp. Not forget to mention, this Georges Irat has all matching numbers. A lovely and stylish looking car to drive for miles and miles until the sun goes down…
