We had to wait two years until a next Concours d’Elegance was held at Palace Het Loo in The Netherlands, but the event was well worth waiting for. By and large a concours is a rather static event but, just like last time, the organisation had the idea to add some flavour by inviting the Dutch Vintage Sports Car Club. During the two days of the concours they held several exciting sprint contests for pre-war sportscars. Screaming engines, smoking tires, what else do you need? Just check the big, big smile of Ruud de Pater, while he and his father Wim tear down the track with their mouth-watering boat-tail Panhard Levassor. And it looks like the DVSCC doesn’t have to worry about future participants as demonstrated by this fast approaching young racing driver. (photos Rutger Booy)
